Volunteering with Canadian Stage is an opportunity to experience the theatre world and develop customer service and leadership skills. It's also a great way to make new connections in a welcoming and vibrant environment.
Berkeley St. Theatre Front of House Volunteers
We're always on the lookout for dynamic individuals to act as volunteer ushers during performances at the Berkeley Street Theatre throughout the season. Shakespeare in High Park
Play a starring role in Toronto's longest-running and most popular outdoor theatre event! Canadian Stage is looking for volunteers to spend evenings under the stars at the 35th edition of Shakespeare in High Park: King Lear + Twelfth Night , presented from June 29th to September 3, 2017.
We are seeking reliable individuals, 15 years of age or older (12 or older if volunteering as a family), who are friendly, enjoy theatre and have excellent customer service skills to join our diverse team of volunteer ushers.
Responsibilities include greeting patrons, accepting donations, answering questions and assisting our patrons finding seats. Shifts are available onsite in High Park from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, Tuesday through Sunday, from June 29th to September 3rd. Volunteers are required to complete a minimum of six, three-hour shifts over the summer. Full training is provided.
Volunteer training at High Park Amphitheatre (all volunteers must attend one):
- June 27th at 5pm
- June 28th at 5pm
If you would like to be involved, attend one of three Volunteer Recruitment Sessions hosted by Canadian Stage at the Berkeley Street Theatre (26 Berkeley Street). It is mandatory that you attend one of these three sessions in order to enrol as a volunteer:
Berkeley Street Theatre recruitment dates:
- Sunday June 11th, 3-6pm
- Tuesday June 13th, 6-9pm
- Tuesday June 20th, 6-9pm
We offer hands-on volunteer internship positions for qualified university students, graduates and young professionals who are interesting in pursuing careers in the performing arts. Applications will only be accepted based on individual postings.
