volunteer for 2014's shakespeare in high park

Play a starring role this summer in Toronto’s longest-running and most popular outdoor theatre event! Canadian Stage invites individuals 15 years and older to be a part of the 32nd Annual Canadian Stage Shakespeare in High Park (formerly known as the Dream in High Park) to spend evenings under the stars volunteering at this summer’s presentation of William Shakespeare’s As You Like It and Titus Andronicus , June 26 to September 1, 2014.
Canadian Stage is seeking reliable individuals, 15 years of age and older (12+ with adult accompaniment), who are friendly, enjoy theatre and have excellent customer service skills to join our diverse team of volunteer ushers at Shakespeare in High Park. Responsibilities include greeting patrons, accepting donations, giving out programs, answering questions and assisting our patrons finding seats.  All shifts begin onsite in High Park at 5:30 pm and run to 8:30 pm, Tuesday through Sunday, from June 26 to September 1. Volunteers are expected to complete a minimum of five shifts.  Full training is provided.   Families welcome!
Volunteers see As You Like It and Titus Andronicus for free and are rewarded with tickets to Canadian Stage’s upcoming season, backstage tours, an invitation to our annual appreciation barbeque, a Shakespeare in High Park volunteer t-shirt, games and prizes. Volunteers will also develop leadership and customer service skills.  Students can receive hours towards their community service requirements as well as a letter of reference for future job searches.

This summer, enjoy Shakespeare’s powerful tragedy Titus Andronicus and comedy As You Like It under the stars.  Two dynamic directors, a vibrant cast, and a mythic setting; a perfect reason to volunteer this summer!  The plays will be performed throughout the summer on alternate nights, a rare repertoire experience at Shakespeare in High Park.
