ABOUT THE POSITION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Ticket Taker Supervisor oversees all Front of House procedures at Canadian Stage’s summer event, Dream in High Park, ensuring a safe and positive audience experience while preserving the High Park Amphitheatre’s outdoor space.
The High Park Operations Manager will be the primary supervisor for this position and will offer day-to-day guidance and support throughout the duration of this contract. Weekly meetings will be held to discuss progress, address concerns or challenges and provide necessary guidance. At the midpoint of their employment, a performance assessment will be conducted by the High Park Operations Manager to evaluate successes and identify additional learning opportunities. This assessment aims to offer valuable feedback and assist the Ticket Taker Supervisor in setting goals for the remaining period of employment. The High Park Operations Manager will provide continuous supervision and support to ensure the Ticket Taker Supervisor’s success and contribution to the overall success of Dream in High Park.
The position will receive health and safety orientation, including Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), and workplace violence and sexual harassment training, at the beginning of the placement. They will be closely supervised during the placement to ensure that Health and Safety guidelines are being followed. They will participate in the First Aid training and emergency procedures prior to the run of the show.
This is a fixed term full-time contract position, from July 7 – August 30. This position requires a work week comprised of 35 hours spread over six days (Tuesday to Sunday), with the working hours in late afternoon, evenings, and weekends. Monday is the day off. The rate of pay is $22.00/hour.
Key Responsibilities

Assisting with the initial Amphitheatre set up for performances

Collaborating with the High Park Operations Manager to run training sessions for volunteers, including AODA and customer experience best practices

Providing volunteers with a nightly briefing on tasks and expectations

Conducting sweeps before and after performances to identify pest problems or safety hazards, reporting to the High Park Operations Manager

Encouraging patrons to use garbage and recycling bins for environmental preservation

Reserving seats for VIPs and media

Enforcing Amphitheatre rules and policies

Developing an effective seating plan strategy

Making public announcements to seat the maximum number of patrons and accommodating late patrons with minimal disruption
Requirements

At least 1 year in customer service/front-of-house positions is preferred

Superior customer service skills and a friendly, outgoing nature
-
Prior experience in admissions or comparable customer service is an asset

Ability to work outside in variable weather conditions during the summer

Must be available to work evenings, weekends and statutory holidays

Punctuality and reliability, especially during high-volume, busy times at High Park
