MAR 2
One night only! The Actors Repertory Company (ARC) is hosting a fundraiser for The CASA Award, a CAnadian South African collaboration that supports and mentors South African women playwrights.

ARC actors and special guests will be reading scenes from contemporary plays by South African Women. The evening will be directed by Aviva Armour-Ostroff and hosted by Marcia Johnson. Other artists include Philip Akin, Nicholas Blais, Jackie Chau, Charlotte Dennis, Deborah Drakeford, Diane Flacks, Kwaku Okyere, Khadijah Roberts-Abdullah, Makambe K. Simamba, Christopher Stanton and Tamara Vuckovic. There will be a cash bar and a raffle for theatre tickets, South African Wine, a South African food basket, and more!

CASA is made up of Canadian and South African theatre makers who have formed a partnership to find funding opportunities for South African women playwrights who lack support and time to write. Theatre is an important and vital voice: advocating for change as it responds to and reflects the world we live in. CASA is a partnership between The Playwrights Guild of Canada Women’s Caucus and The African Women Playwrights Network. This fundraiser is being co-produced by ARC, Ergo Arts, and The CASA Project, with generous support from The Canadian Stage Company.
